While creating the multidimensional arrays, can you specify an array dimension after an empty dimension?

No. You can not specify an array dimension after an empty dimension while creating multidimensional arrays. It gives compile time error.

int[][][] a = new int[][5][]; //Compile time error

int[][][] b = new int[5][][5]; //Compile time error
