Question
What is the root cap?

Answers

The root cap is a protective structure located in the tip of the growing root. It protects the meristematic tissue of the root forming a cap that surrounds the tip. The cover is necessary since during the growth of the root the meristem otherwise would be injured by the friction with the soil.   Your Comment
