RPG IV was first shipped with OS/400 Version 3, Release 1. This is now referred to as RPG IV release 1. But don't worry about remembering releases of RPG IV. Under OS/400 Version 3, Release 6, IBM enhanced RPG with procedures, many more built-in functions, and several new data types. This is referred to as RPG IV release 2. Then, OS/400 Version 3, Release 2 was announced. It brought the original release of RPG IV (on the CISC boxes) up to the same level as RPG IV under V3R6.   Your Comment
