Because customer focus is a prime concern in the new ISO 9001 you will in any
case have to pay attention to the satisfaction of all your customers. In addition
to customers other interested parties are of course also important.
ISO 9001:2000 mentions employees, suppliers and the regulatory authority, but
does not exclude other interested parties. The central criterion of
ISO 9001:2000 for whether or not taking into account interested parties, lies in
meeting customer and applicable regulatory requirements and in enhancing
customer satisfaction. So in ISO 9001:2000 the focus is on the customer.
ISO 9004:2000 pays attention to enhancing satisfaction of all interested parties.
These include customers and end users, but also, for example, employees,
shareholders, and society in terms of the community and the public affected by
