In pteridophytes gametes are made by mitosis from special cells of the gametophyte. As in all plants, in pteridophytes, meiosis is sporic, i.e., cells of the sporophyte undergo meiosis and generate spores that then by mitosis develop into the gametophyte.   Your Comment
